The Barrel is RevX Wellness's upright inflatable plunge: a 38 in. round, 36.5 in. tall PVC barrel you sit in rather than lie in, shipped with inflatable steps, an inflatable lid, a protection mat, hand pump and repair kit. RevX says it fits someone up to 6 ft 3 in. comfortably. At $299 it is the least expensive full-size plunge RevX sells, and the smallest footprint. It suits one adult with limited floor space who prefers a seated, shoulders-under posture.

Good to know
- Posture: A barrel puts you upright with knees bent, which gets the shoulders under water in a smaller footprint than a reclined tub. If you want to stretch your legs out, look at the Tub Classic or Deluxe.
- Ice or chiller: RevX's Barrel bundle adds a 1.0 HP chiller, X-FLOW cabinet and tubing for $3,000. The Barrel's 1/2 in. threaded inserts differ from the X-FLOW's 1 in. barbs, so confirm fittings with RevX if you buy the parts separately.
- Construction: RevX describes the Barrel as cross-stitch PVC with an internal air gap, while its tubs use drop-stitch. It does not publish insulation values for either.
- Steps: RevX also sells extra-wide barrel steps separately ($75); the inflatable steps are in the box.
- Not published: water capacity, empty weight (46 lb is RevX's shipping weight) and temperature retention figures.
